Happy Birthday to me and my new country!  We are both one year older today!

I think as I look back….  it has been a wonderful year in my life.  I have met so so many new people and doggies, this year.  And, I have so many new friends!  It has been so lovely.

I love my new city.  And, I love my new family!

I have been a hot tamale for the past couple of days.  It has actually hot here in Vancouver.  I don’t know what to do with myself…..  I so want to run around and play.  But it is too hot.:o[  All I can do is lie down and pant....  I love it though!  It is a nice break from the rain!  I thought I was going to grow gills this winter.  I have never been somewhere, where it rains so much.  Oy, thank goodness for this heat!

On a lighter note....  Doesn't Blink look good?  Does it look like she has lost some weight?  Please tell her, she looks good.  She has bee working so hard on her diet.  Well I think she looks good.  She has turned out to be an "alright" companion.  We are learning how to live together..... ;o]

Hello to the People!

Well, I have had the most wonderful and busy weekend!  I love the summer time.  There are so many more people around to love me, it seems.  On Saturday.  Tengo que pasar tiempo con mis dos tías favoritas.  Tia Corinne + Tia Alex.  We went to the Farmers Market at Trout Lake.  There were ssssooo many people, and other dogs, it was loco.  I got lost of course.  Nothing like stressing out your human friends…..  The big E, was not impressed, but I had found stuff that I really really needed to roll around in.  Then, my favorite.  Tia Alex shared her muffin with me, later when we went to JJ Bean!  I don’t know what flavor it was, but it was good!  I love my weekend visits.

On Sunday I went on quite the adventure, for such a small Chiquita.  The big E, his amiga + I went to the Light House Park in West Vancouver.  It was very far, and we went for such a nice long walk.  We were in the forest!  Where all of the “wild” animals live.  There were many big dogs- not that I am scared of them….  I just don’t like it when there is more then one of them around.  It makes sniffing of their bottoms difficult, you know.  It seemed like we walked forever, but soon we found the shore.  And, when we did; we had a picnic!  It was such fun, and I was such a good guard dog- not one wild animal or person came near the food!  The big E called me “embarrassingly fierce”.  I am still trying to figure that one out, but I did not see him trying to protect the sushi.  Thank god I was there for him!

I think he knows how lucky he is to have me in his life.  Ciao for now Mundo!  Besos!

n! His two Mommies went on a trip to America in order to watch the Famous Indianapolis 500 Nascar race. Do you think they will be the only gays there? Erek is shaking his head, si…. [well let's say openly gay] I hope they are ok. They will be home tonight, so we will soon find out.

But more about my fun with Dillon…. We have

been racing around the barrio like the true gangsta’s we are; all week! Barking and screeching at any dog that came by my turf. It has been great having “back up”. Wrestling in the house and playing non stop. He is

a good companion. I will miss him when he leaves tonight.

Erek really hopes I stop barking when Dillon leaves. He tells me I have been a yappy embarrassment of a small dog. Que?

Hola Mundo!

Forgive me for not writing to you for a couple of months…..  It was never my intention to be away from you for so long.  And believe me it hurted me more then you muchochos.  Life got very very busy for awhile, it was like I was on tour…  so many people wanting to meet me, and touch me and play.  Who knew the Senorita could become so popular in such a short time.

But I digress, let us now celebrate the fabulous spring time here in the City of Vancouver.  There are cherry blossoms everywhere!  Ellos son tan hermosos!  So, of course I share some photos with you.  I love walking under them.  Playing fetch under the cherry trees however, not so much…. [the petals get all over the ball, and then my tongue --> pleh].

The other big news to share.  Blink the gato….. is on a diet!  An official veterinary diet.  She is not to happy about that.  Consequently, life at home sometimes can be “tense”.  Or maybe let’s say, I have learn’t to stay our of momasita’s way.

We had a snow storm here in Vancouver! My 2nd or third one now…. So I think I am finally getting “used to it”. Plus Erek is not making me wear that stupid coat– sure it keeps me warm, but I need my freedom if you know what I mean muchachos!

So, it is time for me to weigh in on th US Primaries, which are currently underway in my homeland of America….. Unfortunately, People; I might have to give up on my support for Mr Steven Colbert for President, as he is not showing well in th polls, which makes me sad in a way…. For now I am left to possibly support one of two possible contenders– for what the People call the most “Importante Job in the World”!

Forget the Republicans, we all know the race is already down to two people….. Ms. Hilary Clinton + Mr. Borak Oboma. For a while I did not know what to do…..? I like both candidates. But….. I have to say now that Mr Borak Oboma has one my vote for Presedente of the United States. You know why, People? Simply b/c Hilary Clinton went on the Tyra Banks show…. and talk about what a “real woman” she is….. all of a sudden!? Now, I don’t trust her….. I think she is panicking and is a very manipulative person….. I don’t think she is “real”….. Where as my man….. Mr Oboma…. he is the real deal! God save him amigos! I hope he makes it all the way to the White House for all of our sakes!

I encourage all of my Latino Brothers + Sisters to get out and vote in this Election! We are the one that can make change happen in this country! And we can make it change with Oboma!

How are we surviving the depths of the winter season? January is a long month….. and I wonder if it will ever end? I have to tell you Amigos…. some interesting information! I have been doing research about my new home land. And… I found, Vancouver is a good place! It is one of the warmest places in Canada, and it does not get very much snow! I think if I lived where grandma Diane + grandpa Ken live [Winnipeg] — I would have to live in an igloo, no? Erek, tells me stories of all of the snow forts and igloos he built growing up there. This is no place the Senorita. I will stay here in the Vancouver thank you very much!

I will share a story with the people to help warm your hearts! Senorita Chavez has a new hermano! His name is ODIN…. and his only downfall is that he is a Gato! But he is a very cool Dude in his own right. I’ve, caught him drooling? A couple of times, but I wouldn’t dare tell him that!

So, Erek has a small animal ranch going on…. but listen to Odin’s story……

Odin’s Story : Odin started hanging out in front of our Co-Op earlier this summer. His appearance coincided with a family’s move out…. so Erek suspected that he might have been left behind? After some investigation- nope not the case. Not left behind…..

So, not really going away; and basically living on our front lawn…. Odin became “part” of the Co-Op over the course of the summer. People were feeding him, and we all had our pet names for him.

One day in August, on one of our walks around the ‘hood, the big E spotted a poster. A rescue agency was looking for a cat with the same descriptions as the kitty at the Co-Op! Cool we thought, got home and gave them a rang…. Sure enough -he was the one. They came by and scooped him up + off to the vet he went! That is when we really heard what Mr. Kitty had been through…… Apparently he used to reside in the condo at the end of the street, but his elderly mother (who adored him apparently) died on him. [ He was trapped in the apartment with her corpse for 3 weeks, until the Coroner showed up on the scene. And that's when he bolted out the door, and had been living on the streets ever since. Can you say trauma?

The rescue agency that made sure the cat was healthy and neutered, was just going to release him back onto the streets "our front lawn" with the promise that some neighbors would feed him.... So that is when the Big E took matters into his own hands-- he would find this cat a new home! [He finds all kinds of homes for critters]. But, the cat kept coming back…. That is when Erek named him “Odin”, b/c only a god could live through what he has [and well me, but I am named after a Dictator of a Latin American Country- so isn't that the same thing]?

So, slowly over the course of the fall, as the weather has gotten cooler. Odin has slowly moved in with us…. He still comes and goes as he pleases…. but he has come to trust us all more + more, and has even cuddle with me a couple of time. Well, more like sat on me while I was beside Erek. We do play with each other outside though! A Gato that will play with me! That’s why I think he is cool!

Hola to the People!

Do you like the new look? I thought I would start the new year with a “make over”. I like the fresh new look, si.

I have had another busy week out and about around town. Visiting the people, which as you know, is so fun for the Chavez! The highlight I think had to be, being rushed out of a conference room, because I was causing some nice lady an asthma attack?! Can you believe it? I feel so bad for her….. Not being able to be around the Chavez! She must lead a life of torment….. pour chaquita?!

And, the big E + I had a lot of fun dodging the rain this week. It even snowed one day too. But, keep refusing to wear my coat. I gots to be naked, don’t cha know! So, we try to go out to play, when it is not raining…. so I won’t shiver.

Rain, Rain go away! A friend of mine at the dog park, was telling me about this “spa” in Vancouver for dogs –Mestiso’s. She likes it there because, she can go walk [get her work out in] on the treadmill, on rainy days?! Bah? Dogs, on treadmills? Am I, the only one who thinks there is something wrong with that?

Hola! Feliz Año Nuevo!

How are you, mi amigos? I have missed you all! I have been visiting with my Abuela Diane Y Abuelo Ken! They have come traveling from Winnipeg to spend the holidays with the big E + me! They are so wonderful! I love them! I love them! I love them! They are my new favorite People! Erek says it is because they keep stuffing me full of food. I say that is what Grandparents were made for! Spoiling me!

They keep asking me to call them Babcia + Dziadek? And, Dziadek especially keeps trying to feed me sausages!? We have been eating a lot of Kiełbasa…. Did I mention before that Erek is Polish!? Yeah, it has been “interesting”, but I tell you now…. I ain’t learning no Polish!

For the sake of the People, I will just refer to them as Grandma + Grandpa from now on. They are staying in a fancy Hotel downtown! Erek and I go to visit them at the Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle! All the People are so nice to the Chavez there! Erek drives the car to the door, and a man opens the car door for me! What service! And such nice rooms + comfy beds! What…? I told you I am spoiled, I had a sleep over party with Grandma + Grandpa!

I have some exciting news about my holiday! I have been traveling all over Vancouver with my family. Going in and out of stores, saying “Hello to the People”…. And the other day Grandma wanted to go to Ikea. So, off we all go….

And, guess what! I got “escorted out by security”! Apparently Ikea views dogs as a security “problem”. Finally! Someone recognizes the Power of the Chavez! All the while we we leaving Erek kept saying, “but she’s a Chihuahua….?” He was mad, but I was proud! My only question is, why does it take the Corporation of an ex-Nazi sympathizer to recognize my true Potentials…..?

Here are two fine examples of my handy work. This is what I do if I am left to entertain myself…… Erek has been mad this week, talking about me ruining two pair of sunglasses now? What are sunglasses? All I know is, they where fun to drag out of his book bag! ;o]. He was telling me the other night that he is looking for a shirt or tag to put on me that says “Must be Supervised at all Times”! Que? I don’t know know what di hell he is talking about…..? Fun is Fun.

I take much pride in my toys, and I take very good care of them…. I show you a picture! Si?!

Look how nice and beautiful I keep them! Please note the Pink Bunny! That is a new acquisition! I am very proud of her + I love my new toy! I would like to Thank Mucho Norma and her daughter [from Erek's work place] for giving me the bunny! Well, I really stole her, but still. A special shout out to Norma again for giving up her daughter’s toy! I love going to work with the Big E! I love all the People there….. I love visiting + running from office to office. It is so much fun! So many People to visit with! So many laps to sit on…. and so much love to give!

Hello to the People!

Well a lot has gone on in the Senorita’s life since I last wrote…. For example, I lived through and survived my first “snow storm”, up here in Canada. Let me tell ya’ll folks, it was quite inconvenient!

Beside the cold factor, and the indignity of having to wear the “coat”. My feet were cold. I could not walk very far, the big E had to carry me home….

This weather is really annoying. How long does it last? It really interferes with my need to be nude! I hate the collars, clothing, + harnesses. What is a girl too do?
